USTA-TN Local Leagues Needs a Few Players to Complete Teams

Tanya Capeling, USTA-TN local league coordinator, is working on three men's divisions that need teams to get local play. One team needs a captain, so if interested, please step up!

  • 18+ 3.0 is a go, we just need a few more guys and a captain.
  • 40+ 3.0, has a captain, but needs additional players.
  • 55+ 3.5, has potential captain, needs additional players.

If you want to play 3.0-3.5 tennis, please sign up for one or more of these teams. (To play the 40+ or 55+, you just have to turn that age in 2021.)

Here are the team numbers:

Remembering Deborah Love Armour

by Cari Blevons

Deb was a tennis icon in Nashville, captaining 24 or more teams, each year for the last 7 years. She took multiple teams to state and regional competitions, as well as taking the 55+ team to Nationals.

Deb was the face of tennis for so many of us: she brought us together not only to form a team, but also gave us a sense of community, family, and provided us the avenue to make lifelong friendships.

Tennis Nashville is a Community Tennis Association (CTA)

“USTA Community Tennis Associations (CTAs) are not-for-profit, volunteer-based organizations, supporting programs that grow the game of tennis. They are in cities and towns across the country and are great entry points if you’re looking to get started in the game, to play more often, or to give back to our lifetime sport.

USTA-TN 2021 League Opportunities

Tanya Capeling, Local League Coordinator

Nashville’s Singles League is open to all levels and adult players. The goal of the Singles League is to have fun, meet local players and give players an opportunity to improve their singles game. Singles League has flexible scheduling; matches are scheduled by the opponents when it is convenient for them to play. Playing on the Singles League will not affect your NTRP. There are no teams, only individuals. You do not need to be a member to play.
