Tennis Meetup was organized locally in January 2011, as a way for tennis enthusiasts to find other players at their skill level, for pickup singles and doubles matches.
In 2020, Tennis Nashville, the community tennis association for Middle Tennessee, became the official sponsor and Organizer of the MeetUp, and the name was changed to Tennis Nashville MeetUp. Membership continues to grow, making The Nashville group one of the top 50 tennis only organizations listed at meetup.com.
Daily tennis meetups are scheduled each week at a variety of locations across Middle Tennessee. Most events are open to all levels of players, while there are some that are scheduled for more experienced and competitive players. The focus is on social tennis and having fun. These tennis meetups are a way for players in the community to meet others in a fun and informal, but still competitive, playing environment.
Many of the group members find Tennis Nashville MeetUp (TNM) to be a good place to start, before moving on to more competitive tennis leagues. We do encourage players to join USTA and other tennis organizations. In fact, some team captains find that TNM is a good recruiting area to find new team members!
To join, all someone needs to do is visit the Tennis Nashville MeetUp website and sign-up. (See the link below) There is no cost to join. Scheduled tennis meetups are posted on the website and are also emailed to interested members.

All Tennis Nashville MeetUp members also have scheduling privileges for forming new MeetUp events. If you do not find a scheduled tennis MeetUp event to match up with the time you have available to play, you can schedule your own tennis MeetUp at a convenient court location of your choice. Members can also post messages in the discussion area, to see what other members are doing, and to link up for a match.
If you want to find someone to play tennis with, at your level, but do not have time for league play, Tennis Nashville MeetUp is a great way to stay active in the sport.
