The Nashville Catholic Tennis League is a program supported by the Diocesan Athletic Council, USTA-TN and Tennis Nashville. Established in the Fall of 2018, this parochial middle school tennis league is directed by the High School Tennis Coaches from St. Cecilia Academy and Pope John Paul II, along with High School Varsity team players. The program has a competitive edge, where points are accrued by players in K-8, allowing them to represent their middle school. Individual player points are tallied for both Fall and Spring for the competitive players in grades 6-8th. Trophies are awarded to: school with most points, top 2 players with most points and 2 sportsmanship awards are presented in the spring, along with participation awards for all. The league runs in the Fall and Spring school calendar year. It was designed:
- As an introduction to Tennis for students in parochial schools in grades K-8.
- A way for those already familiar with the sport to improve.
- A means to promote tennis, which is a lifetime sport, with many social and health benefits.
- A method of preparing young players for high school tennis
