While May 31st is the end of USTA’s restriction of play, that does not mean we expect all of the facilities and tennis professionals to be open for USTA play on June 1st. We will work, individually if need be, to see when each tennis facility and tennis professional is comfortable to open up for play. We respect everyone’s decision on this and work with whatever each facility and tennis professional chooses for they are working the “front lines” of tennis in Tennessee.
Adult Tennis:
All leagues scheduled to be played – exact dates of play vary by area and may change if facilities are not open in certain areas.
- Adult – June/July/August• Mixed – July/August• Tri-Level – August
- Combo – September/October• ESL – October/November/December
National and Sectional Championships cancelled
Tennessee Championships:
- Tennessee Championships are still planning on being held, but formats may be different than usual.
- Adult 18 & Over, 40 & Over, and 55 & Over are being rescheduled for not before mid August
- Mixed, Tri-Level, Adult 65 & Over, and Combo Championships are still as scheduled
- Adult 70 & Over Invitational postponed until 2021
Junior Tennis:
- Local tournaments will resume in June
- Tournament kits will be provided to remaining 2020 events to assist with new protocols
- Jr tournament committee has approved safety measures and guidelines for events
- State Qualifier postponed to late July
- Southern Closed rescheduled for July 29 – Aug 5
- Tennis Management Tools (TMT) training June 1,2,4
