Update from USTA Southern Tennessee

While May 31st is the end of USTA’s restriction of play, that does not mean we expect all of the facilities and tennis professionals to be open for USTA play on June 1st. We will work, individually if need be, to see when each tennis facility and tennis professional is comfortable to open up for play. We respect everyone’s decision on this and work with whatever each facility and tennis professional chooses for they are working the “front lines” of tennis in Tennessee.

Playing Tennis Safely: USPTA Best Practices

At Tennis Nashville, we appreciate all you do to help promote and grow the game of tennis in our area.  Tennis Nashville is a USTA Community Tennis Association, serving 20 counties in Middle Tennessee.

We know that you are on the front lines, and we support you, and would like to work with you. By working together, supporting one another, it’s possible we can become a united force, to navigate through this period of uncertainty.

USTA Southern initiative - COVID-19 grants to professionals

USTA Southern recognizes that many in the tennis industry are being significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Board of Directors has set aside up to $2 million for the Southern Cares Initiative to provide immediate relief to our partners across the Southern states. This step will help us weather these difficult times, remain viable and be ready to go back to work when tennis play is able to resume.

USTA Southern has a  program specifically designed to aid our tennis teaching pros.

USTA Statement on Suspension of Events

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the USTA has decided to suspend all USTA-sanctioned events through April 20. We reached this decision in order to ensure the health and safety of all, knowing that at this unprecedented time, we have a responsibility not only to those who play, follow, and love our sport, but also to their respective communities in every corner of the U.S. We understand that—particularly right now—nothing is more important than that.
