John Yancey of BelleMeade CC gives Tennis Nashville the updates of players returning to the court for our July play status survey.
1. What has been the response from your members since tennis has returned to the court?
The response from our membership has been very positive. BMCC has hired additional part time tennis pros for the summer, to cover the increase in tennis membership activity!
2. Do you have unique programs designed for this season?
Our annual unique summer adult Ladies Grand Prix league has over 100 members, slightly down from 112 in 2019. Wednesday evening. Thursday evening Men’s Grand Prix on Thursday evening has 84, an increase from 65 in 2019.
3. What do you see as the greatest opportunity, and the greatest threat for the near future of local tennis?
Opportunity is that no one is traveling. Team sport camps cancelled. Threat is the fear of the unknown.
4. What advice to do you have for those tennis players looking for a place to play?
Contact Tennis Nashville or USTA, for information on playing opportunities.
