
Tennis Nashville proudly congratulates Mike Hurley on his 2019 Tennessee Tennis Hall of Fame Award. Mike currently serves as Vice President of the Tennis Nashville board of directors.
Mike lives in Old Hickory Tennessee, and a native Ohioan. He has a long and diverse history in tennis, playing junior all district and regional tennis and varsity tennis at Ball State University in Muncie, KY.
While Mike was a college student, he began coaching at high schools, camps and other venues and served as director of tennis at numerous clubs in Ohio after completing college. in 1991, Wilson Sporting Goods appointed him a regional sales representative for southeastern United States racquet sports until 2017. Mike?s passion for teaching is reflected in numerous coaching awards and includes many high school players who went on to play collegiate tennis. Mike became involved in USTA adult tennis and became one of the first verifiers. Mike is a popular speaker on different facets of the tennis industry and is the author of many published tennis articles. Mike is a USPTA Elite Professional, was a National clinician and served as president of the Ohio and Midwest USPTA associations. Mike has a. Solid history of volunteering for USTA, at the state and sectional levels, including two terms as president of USTA Tennessee. Mikes work in Special Olympics Unified Doubles reflects his belief that tennis is a sport for everyone. Mike continues to coach a local high school team, special Olympic events, S.P.U.D. He owns K.A.T.T. Consulting, which provides a fill menu of tennis facilities consulting services.
