Alas, the weather is changing and we’ve moved the clocks back; we are heading into a season of cooler weather. What this means is simply our days of outdoor tennis are coming to an end. However, do not despair tennis aficionado’s ...there are indoor options:
1.Centennial Sportsplex Tennis Center, 222 25th Ave N, Nashville, TN 615-862-8480. Winter seasonal contract time is available for 2020-2021, but is limited. No membership needed, email Dillon Hoyt, dillon.hoyt@nashville.gov for specifics. Indoor contract time season begins October 26, 2020 until March 28, 2021 and the total costs will vary depending on day and time reserved and center closings because of weather or holidays. There is a $50 application for residents and $60 fee for non-residents.
2. Hadley Park Tennis Center, 1037 28th Ave N, Nashville, TN 615-862-8451. Winter seasonal contract time is available for 2020-2021, but is limited. No membership needed, email Terrance Quattlebaum, terrance.Quattlebaum@nashville.gov for specifics. Indoor contract time season begins October 26, 2020 until April 4th, 2021 and the total costs will vary depending on day and time reserved, and the center closings because of weather or holidays. There is not an application fee.
3. Adams Tennis Complex, 925 Golf Lane, Murfreesboro, TN 615-546-4000. Winter seasonal contract time is not available for 2020-2021 season. Must be a member of the facility to participate in any indoor contract time opportunities. Indoor tennis courts are also shared with MTSU, it is their home courts. Memberships are available on three different levels: family, individual, and seniors with varying costs. There are currently close to 3,000 members, and this doesn’t sound like a bad idea to plan ahead if you live in the area and are a tennis player/ fan as they have 24 outdoor courts and 8 indoor courts. 4. Williamson County Sports Complex, 920 Heritage Way, Brentwood, TN 615-370-3471 Winter seasonal contract time is not available for the 2020-2021 season. Must be a Williamson County resident to participate in a lottery which is held each year, there are no memberships. Indoor contract time runs from October 19, 2020 until March 28, 2021, costs vary depending on time and day of the week. Something to consider if you are a Williamson County resident and would like to share contract time with your tennis buddies. You can call Ann Marie Flynn at 615-370-3471 ext 2113 for any questions.
So there you have it—planning for upcoming winter tennis seasons takes a little footwork... Love is nothing in tennis, but in life it’s everything!
