Since the overall consensus has been cautious, the return to play at the Maryland Farms courts has been slow. Here's what Jim Monk has to say:
1. What has been the response from your members since tennis has returned to the court?
Membership response has been positive, but cautious. Many players still choosing to stay away.
2. Do you have unique programs designed for this season?
No unique programs, just trying to restart existing programming.
3. What do you see as the greatest opportunity, and the greatest threat for the near future of local tennis?
Opportunity = To continue promoting tennis as an physical and mental outlet through this craziness. Threat = another over hyped “wave” of this illness that would cause another state/national shut down. We, and many other clubs/businesses would not survive
4. What advice to do you have for those tennis players looking for a place to play?
Come out and play!! Tennis is a natural “distancing” sport. Leave the high 5’s and fist bumping at home, maintain normal distancing and enjoy!
